There are various ways to improve the strength of steel wire ropes, such as eliminating traction steel wire ropes with lower strength levels and replacing them with high-strength steel wire ropes, such as 1960/2160, 1770/1960MPa, etc. The manufacturing process of steel wire rope can also be improved, such as using steel cord and wire rod to manufacture steel wire rope, which can greatly improve the strength of the steel wire rope. This is because the wire rod used for steel cord adopts a special smelting technology. The steel used has a low impurity content, no obvious central segregation, surface decarburization and other defects, only containing A and D impurities, and the latter is less than 0.5 grade. It is plastic and has a size of less than 0.5 pum. The wire rod made from this steel has many advantages such as pure material, high ultimate compression rate, small fluctuations in chemical composition, and uniform mechanical properties. Therefore, it can be said that the wire rod used for steel cord is an ideal material for manufacturing pulling steel wire ropes.
